| Hold a Fundraising Event or Promotion to Help Fight Breast Cancer! |
We are honored to be contacted by passionate members of our community wanting to organize an event or promotion benefiting breast cancer awareness and research. The Northwest Ohio Affiliate of Komen for the Cure partners with others to create a win-win that benefits both parties in terms of public awareness and education.We want to make this process as simple as possible.
In order for us to give each event and/or promotion request its due attention, we ask that you first read through the Guidelines available to assist you in planning your event or promotion. If after you've read the guidelines, you are interested in entering into an agreement with the Komen Northwest Ohio Affiliate, please fill out the Relationship Proposal Form online. If you decide that the size of your event does not warrant the effort to follow these guidelines, there are three other ways to support Komen:
Option 1: You may want to consider registering for Passionately Pink for the Cure®. This program allows individuals, business and clubs/groups to fundraise for Komen. The website provides resources for your fundraising activities as well as a customizable web page. Click Here to learn how you can become Passionately Pink!
Option 2: You may want to consider simply making a general statement that the funds raised will go to a local breast health organization or breast cancer research and support. We would be honored to receive funds raised and would give public recognition for your donation.
Option 3: Rally for the Cure® has expanded their well-established golf program to other events. You can now plan a Rally for the Cure® program for sporting events like tennis, dinner events such as wine-tasting or group/club activities such as a bridge or book clubs. Passionately Pink for the Cure®:
Whether you are a soccer mom, a teacher, a volunteer or the CEO, you can help move us closer to a world without breast cancer by launching a Passionately Pink for the Cure special event! It’s fun, it’s easy and it will make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
Kicking off in May and running through October, this fun and easy-to-execute fundraising program inspires breast cancer advocacy and honors those affected by breast cancer.
The premise is simple: show your true colors!
It’s easy and fun to participate:
- Get a group of friends or coworkers together to go Passionately Pink.
- Choose a team captain to register your group at www.passionatelypink.org.
- Select the date(s) for your Passionately Pink day(s).
- Plan your event. Perhaps you’ll dress in crazy pink outfits. Perhaps you’ll honor a breast cancer survivor with a nice luncheon. It’s up to you.
- Invite your group members, letting them know to wear pink!
- Collect $5 or more from each participant on your Passionately Pink day.
- Send the donations to Komen for the Cure.
When your team captain registers your group, he or she will receive a free activation kit. This kit will include everything you need to get started – event day ideas, promotional posters, special pins for participants and an envelope to return the donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
